Bio
Rudxane is a visual artist from Amsterdam, working on computer art since the 90s. He is exploring the interplay of artist/machine through the generative medium by introducing human characteristics in a generative system. His latest work ‘Hypnagogic‘ was exhibited by Verse in London (December 2022) and minted as a digital collection on Ethereum.

tabellen is a generative series that uses data as a visual building block.

Rather than functioning as information, data in these works is used for its formal properties. Numbers, characters and repeated units are arranged, repeated and combined to construct table-like structures and compositions. Their role is not to describe or communicate, but to produce form.

The usual relation between structure and content is reversed: data does not fill a system, but becomes the material from which the system is built.

The series is loosely informed by earlier modular display formats in which information appears through the arrangement of individual units. In tabellen, that logic is continued in a digital and generative context, where modular elements are used to build images that operate between information display and abstraction.
