Anna Carreras
Anna Carreras is a generative artist and creative coder focusing her work on the use of algorithms to create visuals that depict generic concepts, foster memories, or evoke new discussions.
Bio
Her work is coded from scratch to create images that could not exist in any other medium. Interested in the complexity that emerges from small, simple behaviors, she explores diversity and the balance between order and chaos in which nature and daily life seem to be suspended. Drawing inspiration from Mediterranean culture and landscape, her practice translates these influences into abstract visuals: vivid digital images, static or dynamic, geometric or organic. She holds a PhD in Fine Arts, specializing in Generative Art, as well as two MSc degrees: one in Engineering from Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) and another in Audiovisual Technologies from Universitat Pompeu Fabra (UPF). In Barcelona, she teaches creative coding at several design schools. Her work has been exhibited at Feral File, Art Blocks Curated, and CVerso Galleria. She has also developed and presented generative art and digital installations at renowned national and international institutions, museums, and festivals, including MUTEK ES+AR, Sónar Festival, Eufònic Urbà, Decentraland, the Venice Art Biennale, Medialab Prado Madrid, and Abandon Normal Devices Liverpool, among others.
